Continuous Integration with CruiseControl

The concept of Continuous Integration by pioneered by Martin Fowler, one of the best minds in software engineering. It encourages test-driven development, frequent integrations of code changes, build automation, and quick feedback on builds.

I had a chance to implement this concept with CruiseControl when I was studying in CMU West's software engineering master degree program. Here is the presentation on my experience of implementing it.

Carnegie Mellon Networking Night - Silicon Valley at the Googleplex

I attended CMU Network Night Silicon Valley at the Googleplex last night.

I got there half an hour late and missed the talk of the first speaker. The meeting room was full of people. The 2nd speaker Joshua Bloch(the author of the book "Effective Java" which is one of my favorites) talked about his experience in Java and the usage of Java in Google. He also mentioned Google uses Python as well. I thought Google only uses C++.

During the socializing hour, I was glad to see and chat some of my schoolmates and faculty from CMU West. I graduated in last summer. But it felt like it has been a long time since I was out of school.

Finally Started Blogging

I am finally out of school(CMU West) after 2 years.

Now I have some time to reflect on my part-time study in CMU West's master software engineering program, and write some random thoughts on varies things I am interested in such as Java and open source.
