Social Bookmarking - the ultimate information hub

I've been keeping an eye on social bookmark phenomenon for a while.

I used to keep all my bookmarks with FireFox. But it's just un-managable as it grows. Without tagging, it's really hard to find my way around.

I finally started to look for a social bookmarking service. I found this great comparison of 19 different social bookmarking services and settled on using scuttle. It's open source and provides basic bookmarking service(tagging, private, and public bookmarks).

The intriguing thing about social bookmarking is that I can find a lot of useful and interesting sites by browsing other's bookmarks. It really makes sense because people(if not all of them) only bookmark things that are valuable to them.

One of my favorite sites is oishii which returns all sites that are just bookmarked by at least 50 people and refreshes every 5 minutes.
Try it. You'll know what's popular.

I bet someone will provide a seach on social bookmarks. What it returns is more useful than searching by using search engines.

Edited: fac.etio.us is a search engine for del.icio.us bookmarks.

If you just want to store your bookmarks in one place (and not share them) there's a firefox plugin that allows you to schronize your bookmarks. It basically stores your bookmarks on an ftp server and gets and puts them when you start and close firefox.
