Scuttlelicious

Submitted by kai on Mon, 2005-10-24 12:49. ::

Scuttlelicious is a Firefox extension that lets a user post the current page or link to Scuttle.org or any social bookmarking site powered by Scuttle. It supports posting of non-public bookmarks since version 0.2.

It's based on Patrick H. Lauke's del.icio.us post 0.4

I am working on porting the 0.1 version to work with Firefox 1.5

I've run into some problems. Please stay tuned.

Hi,

just a quick thank you! for creating scuttlelicious! :)

I install Firefox 2.0 and found out that my most used plug-in (Scuttleicious) will not install because Firefox 2.0 won't install a plug-in that it doesn't think is FF2.0 compatible.

Any chance we might see a Scuttleicious update anytime soon?

I'm now about to go and try to figure out how to uninstall Firefox 2.0 and re-install 1.5 (so I can use Scuttleicious again).

Thanks,
Montie

Rename scuttlelicious_0.2.1.xpi to scuttlelicious_0.2.1.zip.

Uncompress it! Edit install.rdf and replace to «maxVersion="2.*"».

Compress again... rename to .xpi. Install!

Have you looked at what is involved - if not too much and you can advise, I will do it.

Great tool - used it all the time with our own scuttle repository.

Rich,
I've made the extension compatible with Firefox 3 now. Please download version 0.2.3.

Please let me know if you run into any problem.

So I installed it, it seems to be running, but: How do I use it? I just might be blind. Can't find the functionality anywhere... I don't even know where to configure my log-in information...

Help?

Right click on a link, or a page, click the popup menu item called "Post link to a Scuttle-enabled site" or "Post page to a Scuttle-enabled site".

Click the login tab to specify your login info.

I've got the extension up and running and I'm wondering if anyone has a list of scuttle based sites?

Hi, I own a private implementation of scuttle -web reachable- and i can't post a bookmark. After i click on "Post Page to a Scuttle-enabled Site", the dialog raises, and after setting the credentials to log in (regretfully -or not- no https, no strange things in the middle, etc), the extension says:

==
Error connecting to scuttle.
Please make sure that the following URL returns a XML page in your browser: www.example.org/scuttle/api/posts_add.php?
==

Now, of course, example.org is an example ;), but the fun thing here is that after going to that URL, scuttle asks me for a log-in information (i think this is normal operation), and when i'm logged in, scuttle returns this:

==
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

==

I'm not a XML genius, but that IS xml.

-I'm using the latest version available for scuttle at sourceforge, and it seems to work fine.
-I'm using your lastest version for scuttlelicious

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Te posting system may be filtering xml. Replacing the inequality signs, the text would read as follows:

[result code="something went wrong"/]

Thanks again.

looks like Scuttle returned some error. It means something is wrong with your Scuttle installation.

FireFox 3.5 has been released. I await your updating scuttlelicious. I prepared your scuttle acount on my site before, and it's still there.

Thanks.
